wind rope pump
hello there
I am based in London and I am very interested in the wind rope pump
for irrigating a small scale date palm/forage farm in the Nugaal
valley,Somalia. (1 hectare, water 5metres from surface) It is windy
for most of the year.
How can I learn to make this pump, are there any training courses/centres that I could go to? if so where?
regards, Faisal.

Dear Faisal,
Have you seen the Akvopedia article on the rope pump?
http://www.akvo.org/wiki/index.php/Rope_pump
It has a lot of good links to resources, including a manual created by PRACTICA and ETC Foundation. You should find everything you need there I think.
Best regards
Thomas
