What is a project?

A project in Akvo is the traditional development aid project brought online.

Online, project partners can collaborate on developing proposals, publicize funding needs, get feedback from their peers who have worked on similar projects, and otherwise communicate on all aspects of their work. And they can do it now, without the back-and-forth gaps in time of snail mail or email.

Every project in the Akvo Really Simple Reporting (RSR) system has its own web page, showing the facts and details of the project at its start: location, background on the current situation, plans for carrying out the project, pictures of the location and people involved, and so forth. Once published this part of the site remains constant, part of the project’s historical record.

Projects are entered in Akvo RSR by Akvo partner users with administrator permissions. Once created, the unpublished project can also be edited by users with project editor permissions. Users with these permissions can collaborate with like permissioned users of the project's partner organisations to revise drafted projects until they are ready to be published.

When the project is ready to be published, contact your Akvo administrator.
